Why Music?

  • Children that participate in music classes regularly do better in reading and maths when they start school
  • Music helps children focus and control their bodies and is great for individuality, confidence and self esteem
  • Music vastly improves children’s social skills and they interact better with others.
  • Early exposure to music enhances children’s listening  and concentration skills
  • Dancing to music helps children to learn various concepts like balance, coordination and rhythm, and is also a good way of keeping fit.
  • Through music, children can improve memory and cognitive skills like counting, recognizing colors, remembering the alphabet and days of the week.
  • Participation in music classes helps children gain the phonological processing, spoken language, and comprehension skills that are the foundation of reading.
  • Music helps children work on their special awareness in the form of dancing and their hand-eye coordination in the form of playing instruments.
  • By playing simple instruments, children improve their gross and fine motor skills.
  • They develop social and emotional skills that get them ready to start school, such as the ability to vary their responses and relate to others in a more complex manner.
  • Regular music classes will help children develop a life-long love of music!
